Cynthia Jean Maiers and Martin John Maiers were married for nearly 17 years before their marriage was dissolved. The district court awarded Ms. Maiers temporary spousal maintenance for five years and reserved jurisdiction over the issue due to uncertainty concerning when she will become self-supporting.
