A jury convicted Edward Molton, Jr., of unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 922(g). The district court sentenced Molton to 108 months' imprisonment, which is substantially higher than the advisory guidelines range of 63 to 78 months.
