Defendant, Burtell Thomas, was charged by grand jury indictment with second degree murder, a violation of La. R.S. 14:30.1. He was tried by a twelve-person jury and found guilty as charged. The trial court denied defendant's motion for new trial and sentenced him to life imprisonment at hard labor, without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence. Defendant now appeals.
