Little but grief has come of the loan Michael Van De Weghe gave his girlfriend. After the relationship's end, he had to turn to small claims court to get his money back. Making matters worse, he discovered during the litigation that his ex-girlfriend had erased the word "loan" from the memo line of the checks he'd written her.
