Following a jury trial, defendant Michael Permanian was convicted of first degree murder and conspiracy to commit first degree murder, and sentenced to an extended term of 75 years in prison. On direct appeal, defendant's judgment was affirmed, but the case was remanded to resentence defendant to 60 years in prison. Six years later, defendant filed a motion pursuant to section 116-3 of the Code of Criminal...
