Defendant-Appellant Kurt A. Kristl was charged with and pleaded guilty to knowingly possessing a firearm after having been convicted of a felony in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(1). The district court determined that the applicable United States Sentencing Guidelines ("Guidelines" or "U.S.S.G.") range was 24-30 months and sentenced him to 28 months' incarceration.
