Larry Begay was sentenced to 188 months' imprisonment after pleading guilty to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(1). The district court determined that each of Mr. Begay's three previous felony convictions for driving while intoxicated was a "violent felony" under the Armed Career Criminal Act (ACCA), 18 U.S.C. § 924(e).
