Defendant-appellant Joanne Richardson appeals her conviction under 18 U.S.C. § 1623 for making false statements during immunized testimony before a grand jury investigating allegations of Medicare/Medicaid fraud. Richardson first contends that the district court erroneously denied her motion to dismiss the indictment because her trial took place after the deadline imposed by the Speedy Trial Act, 18 U.S.C. §§ 1361-74 ("STA").
