¶ 1 Meredith Campbell began working as a custodian for Eastern Washington University (EWU) in 1999. In 2001, she became the secretary for EWU's Military Science Department. She received two negative evaluations and felt intimidated and harassed at work. After going on a stress-induced sick leave, Ms. Campbell was reverted by EWU to her former job as a custodian.
