Defendant David Martello was charged by bill of information on July 1, 1997, with armed robbery, a violation of La. R.S. 14:64. Defendant pleaded not guilty at his July 3, 1997, arraignment. The trial court denied defendant's motions to suppress the identification and evidence on July 18, 1997. A twelve-person jury found defendant guilty as charged on October 7, 1997.
