Defendant, Robert McCartney, was charged by bill of indictment with first degree murder, a violation of La.R.S. 14:30. On May 25, 1993, defendant appeared in court with counsel and entered a plea of not guilty. On April 4, 1995, the state filed a Motion To Amend Original Bill of Indictment which was granted by the trial court.
