The issue in this case is whether the trial court erred in admitting evidence in defendant's trial for assault in the second degree, ORS 163.175,1 that defendant was on parole at the time of the alleged assault, that he was not in contact with his parole officer, and that there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest for a parole violation (collectively referred to in this opinion as evidence of defendant's parole status...
