This is an appeal and cross-appeal from a judgment of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, Carter, J., in an action based on a contract executed in 1983 by plaintiff-appellant-cross-appellee Proteus Books Limited (Proteus) and defendant-appellee-cross-appellant Cherry Lane Music Co.
