HUSPENI, Judge.

The Medical Director of the Minnesota Security Hospital petitioned for authorization to administer neuroleptic medications to Homer Jarvis, who has not consented to such treatment. Jarvis has been committed as a mentally ill and dangerous person since 1977. The trial court appointed counsel and a guardian ad litem for Jarvis.
