The defendant Wesley Bucey was indicted on September 3, 1986 and charged with violations of 18 U.S.C. §§ 2, 1001, 1341, and 1503 and 31 U.S.C. §§ 5313 and 5322(b). The grand jury returned a superseding indictment on May 23, 1987 charging the defendant with the violation of 18 U.S.C. § 371 in addition to the violations in the original indictment.
