In this workers' compensation case, the issue on appeal concerns the doctrine of estoppel as a bar to the appellee's defense of the statute of limitations.

The appellant was injured on the job in 1975 and he was paid the appropriate temporary total disability benefits. He was rated as having a 20% permanent partial disability and he accepted a lump sum payment in October, 1979 as full settlement on that claim. Had he not accepted the lump sum...
