In April 1982, Union Mutual Life Insurance Company discharged its employee Howard Greene. Greene filed age discrimination charges with federal and state agencies. In April 1984, after conciliation efforts had failed, Greene sued the Company in federal court. The Company made a motion to dismiss Greene's entire complaint. Greene did not file his response to this motion on time. The court then dismissed the complaint, and it denied Greene's motions...
