Ricky Ray Rector was charged with capital murder in the shooting of Bob Martin, a Conway city policeman acting in the line of duty. Ark.Stat.Ann. § 41-1501(1)(b) (Repl. 1977). In a bifurcated trial the jury returned a verdict of guilty and imposed the death penalty. Nine separate points for reversal are argued.
