Defendant, Joseph W. Johnson, was indicted for second degree murder and attempted second degree murder in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:30.1 and LSA-R.S. 14:27. The indictment alleged that defendant murdered Estella Allen and attempted to murder Jimmy S. Allen, Jr., her son.
