Defendant was indicted by a Morris County grand jury in a two-count indictment charging him with (1) threatening the life of another (N.J.S.A. 2A:113-8), and (2) carrying a firearm in his possession without first having obtained a permit to carry same (N.J.S.A. 2A:151-41 (a)). Both offenses occurred in the Township of Parsippany-Troy Hills. He was convicted of the first count after a jury trial, and of the second count by the county judge...
