On July 31, 1970, defendant was arrested in Lane County while carrying a concealed pistol. The same day a complaint was filed in the Lane County District Court charging him with a crime of carrying a concealed weapon, a misdemeanor,1 and on August 27 he was convicted in the district court on a plea of guilty.
