This action was commenced in 1958 with the plaintiffs' complaint that the operation by the defendant The Lime Rock Corporation, hereinafter referred to as the defendant, of a track for the racing of automobiles "generally without mufflers or other devices to silence the exhaust from such engines" constituted "a nuisance and irreparable injury" to the plaintiffs.
