POWERS, Justice.
This is an action of trespass for assault and battery and false arrest. It was tried to a superior court justice sitting with a jury and resulted in a directed verdict for the defendant. The case is before us on the plaintiff's bill of exceptions to the verdict as directed, and to the denial of his motion for a direction as set forth in his bill.
