The City of Ketchikan has provided for the construction of a hospital with a combination of federal, state and local funds.1 After approval by the voters at a special election, the city executed an agreement to lease the hospital to the Sisters of St. Joseph of Newark, a charitable, non-profit corporation, for a period of 10 years at a rental of $1.00 a year.
