Plaintiff sues to recover damages for the failure of defendant to comply with those provisions of the Act of March 28, 1908, 35 Stat. 51, governing the cutting of timber on the Menominee Indian Reservation. The act is entitled "An Act To authorize the cutting of timber, the manufacture and sale of lumber, and the preservation of the forests on the Menominee Indian Reservation in the State of Wisconsin," and contains the following pertinent provision...
