GROSSE, J.

¶ 1 The authority granted by the state constitution and statute to pro tempore judges to try a case includes any judicial examination of issues of law or fact. This includes acceptance of a guilty plea, which involves judicial determination of whether the defendant is knowingly, intelligently, and voluntarily entering the plea and whether there is a factual basis for the plea. Accordingly, we affirm.
