¶ 1 This appeal follows the trial court's refusal to allow the defendant to withdraw a plea of guilty. His lawyer asked and was permitted to withdraw based on a potential conflict of interest. Substitute counsel then filed what he explicitly characterized as an "Anders brief"1 and strongly suggested that his client's position was frivolous.
