¶ 1 The 2009 amendments to Washington's slayer statute, chapter 11.84 RCW, which prohibit a person who exploits a vulnerable adult from benefiting from the vulnerable adult's death, apply prospectively to probate petitions filed after the amendments' effective date even when the abuse and death occur before that date.
