¶ 1 Appellant Steven Mullins was arrested for murdering his wife. The detectives who took him into custody were completing prebooking procedures at the Thurston County jail when Mullins, who previously had invoked his right to counsel, voluntarily made a series of incriminating statements in their presence. Mullins contends those statements should have been suppressed because he was not put in touch with an attorney as soon as he arrived at the jail...
