Mark Farewell ("appellant") appeals his conviction of assault and battery of a law enforcement officer, in violation of Code § 18.2-57. Following a jury trial in the Circuit Court of the City of Charlottesville ("trial court"), appellant was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison.
