Sandra Lee Austin ("Austin") appeals her conviction after a bench trial in the Circuit Court of the City of Charlottesville ("trial court") of two counts of obtaining money or property by false pretense in violation of Code § 18.2-178. On appeal, Austin argues that the trial court committed reversible error when it denied her motion to strike the two charges because the Commonwealth did not meet its burden of proving beyond a reasonable doubt...
