The appellant, Wayne Thompson, was convicted in a bench trial in the Circuit Court of Arlington County of violating Code § 18.2-308.2(A) by carrying concealed about his person, as a convicted felon, what is generally known as a "butterfly knife." The dispositive issue on appeal is whether the evidence was sufficient to establish that Thompson's butterfly knife is a "weapon of like kind" to those weapons enumerated in Code...
