Pilar Rodriguez sued Sandhill Cattle Co., L.P., for damages arising from his colliding with cattle on a roadway after midnight. The cattle belonged to Sandhill and had been pastured at a location several miles from the accident scene. The pasture was surrounded by a functioning "hot-wire" when the cattle were left there.
