On August 22, 1997, forty-six days after giving birth to her child, C.A.B., Lana Bevering obtained a divorce from Joseph Bevering. In addition to granting a divorce, the decree ordered no child support payments, terminated Joseph's parental rights, and specifically terminated C.A.B.'s inheritance rights from Joseph.
