A jury convicted appellant Francisco Iniquez of aggravated assault. See Tex. Penal Code Ann. § 22.02(a)(2) (West 2011). The trial court sentenced Iniquez to fifteen years' imprisonment. On appeal, Iniquez argues that the trial court erred by (1) failing to determine sua sponte whether Iniquez was competent to stand trial and (2) excluding expert psychological testimony that would have negated the...
