MEYERS, J., delivered the opinion for a unanimous Court.

Appellants Crystal Michelle Watson and Jack Wayne Smith were charged with the offense of attack by dog resulting in death. TEX. HEALTH & SAFETY CODE § 822.005(a)(1). The jury found them guilty and sentenced each to seven years' confinement and a $5,000 fine. Appellants appealed, and the court of appeals affirmed the judgments...
