TERRY JENNINGS, Justice.

Appellant, Kufreabasi Ita Enyong, challenges the order of the trial court denying him the relief that he requested in his application for writ of habeas corpus. In his sole issue, appellant contends that his trial counsel rendered ineffective assistance in not advising him of the immigration consequences associated with his guilty pleas for the misdemeanor offenses of assault of a family member1
