Opinion by Chief Justice MORRISS.

Derrick Norman was charged with two counts of injury to a two-year-old child. The State requested, as to each charge, that there be an affirmative finding that he used a deadly weapon, "hot liquid." Norman waived his right to a jury trial and pled not guilty. He has now been convicted in a bench trial and sentenced to life imprisonment on each count.
