I. Introduction

Appellee Stewart Le Richardson was charged by indictment with multiple counts of intoxication-related crimes arising out of the same episode. The indictment also alleged prior convictions as repeat-offender notices to enhance the punishment range. At a pretrial hearing, the trial court granted Appellee's motion to quash the enhancement allegations, and the State appealed. After the case was submitted...
