OPINION

HERVEY, J., delivered the opinion for a unanimous Court.

Appellant, Larry Joseph Tillman, was charged with capital murder. TEX. PENAL CODE §§ 12.31(b), 19.03(a)(2). A jury found him guilty, and the trial court assessed the automatic punishment of confinement for life in the Institutional Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. The Fourteenth Court of Appeals affirmed.
