A jury convicted Eddie Wayne Johnson III of assault of a household member and a person with whom he had a dating relationship. See TEX. PENAL CODE ANN. § 22.01(a)(1), (b)(2) (West Supp.2010). The jury assessed Johnson's punishment at sixty-three years' confinement after it found two enhancement paragraphs to be true. On appeal, Johnson contends that the trial court abused its discretion by admitting hearsay evidence...
