Appellant Guillermo Montalvo has been charged with murder (trial court cause number 1237568). See TEX. PENAL CODE ANN. § 19.02 (Vernon 2003). His pretrial bail was originally set at $50,000, and he filed a habeas corpus petition (trial court cause number 1242494) complaining that the bail was excessive and seeking a reduction of the bail to $5,000. See TEX.CODE CRIM. PROC. art. 11.24 (Vernon 2005)....
