The State of Texas sued John L. Taylor, appellant, for overdue payments on student loans for which Taylor served as guarantor. The State attempted to serve process on Taylor personally as authorized by Texas Rule of Civil Procedure 106(a), and when that failed it obtained a court order permitting substituted service as authorized by Texas Rule of Civil Procedure 106(b).
