JANE BLAND, Justice.

Following trial, a jury convicted James Roosevelt Rue of aggravated assault and assessed his punishment at ten years' imprisonment. Rue contends that the judgment should be reversed because the trial court erred in (1) refusing to instruct the jury on the defense of deadly force to prevent aggravated kidnapping; and (2) denying Rue's request to impeach the complainant with a prior conviction for attempted endangerment of a child...
