Curtis Mantooth, Jr., appeals his conviction for failure to comply with sex-offender registration requirements. In 1991, Mantooth was convicted of attempted sexual assault of a child. As discussed below, Mantooth was subject to the lifetime duty to register under Article 62.101(a). See TEX.CODE CRIM. PROC. ANN. art. 62.101(a) (Vernon 2006).
