This appeal arises from a dispute over the settlement of a lawsuit. Teresa Larkin died in 2003, with her life insurance proceeds and her estate passing to her husband, Dale Larkin ("Larkin"). Teresa Larkin's minor daughter, Tia Gentry ("Gentry"), sued Larkin, her stepfather, alleging that he caused the death of her mother...
