[¶ 1.] Thomas and Jennifer Ortman hired Rick DeJager, Carolyn DeJager, and DeJager Construction & Log Homes, Inc. (collectively DeJager) to build a house. Disputes arose between the parties during construction. Ortmans eventually sued DeJager claiming damages for breach of contract, conversion, and fraud. Ortmans specifically sought $116,837 in damages for their conversion claim. A jury found...
