OPINION

Pennsylvania's Adoption Act, 23 Pa.C.S, §§ 2101-2938, authorizes the involuntary termination of parental rights in certain enumerated circumstances. Section 2511(a)(1) of the Adoption Act permits the termination of parental rights upon establishing parental abandonment. 23 Pa.C.S. § 2511(a)(1).
