Plaintiff Peggy Trees appeals from a judgment entered after the trial court granted a directed verdict to defendants, Dr. Julio Ordonez and his professional corporation, in a medical malpractice case.1 Ordonez, a neurosurgeon, performed surgery to fuse three vertebrae in plaintiff's neck, and she later suffered adverse medical consequences that required additional surgeries and left her with permanent disabilities.
