Defendant appeals his conviction for possession of a controlled substance. Former ORS 475.992 (2003), renumbered as ORS 475.840 (2005). The only physical evidence introduced by the state was a pipe with cocaine residue on it found in defendant's jacket pocket. Before trial, defendant moved to suppress that evidence.
